I needed to replace the motor holder in my CLD-D925.
When flipping up the metal guide rail with the laser pickup unit, the plastic part that holds the rail in place towards the rear snapped off.
I managed to superglue it back in place and side 1 of a disk plays actually fine, but when wanting to play side B, the head seems to get stuck at said plastic holder. I'm assuming some hardened glue got in the way.
Has anyone managed to succesfully fix this part? I'm assuming a replacement part is not available.

Do you mean the black nub the guide rail pushes onto? If so, you are out of luck. The black plastic components of the platform are not replaceable. You have to replace the entire base platform assembly. Can you provide a picture?

I tried to take it out of a spare unit but it seems permanently clipped on the metal chassis.

Can't get it out without breaking it.
