I have a Hitachi VIP-30C, which is a re-badge of the Pioneer CLD-9000, which I believe is the same as the US Pioneer CLD-900. It was sold as junk, saying the tray would not eject and no further testing had been done. I thought it would just be a case of a belt needing replacing, but actually the tray really is stuck. When I took the bonnet off there was a pack of cards inside the machine, which I removed. I should also note that this has been transported all the way from Japan to the UK without the locking screws on the base being engaged (I didn't realise this needed to be done). I cannot move the tray by manually trying to push it forward. Manually turning the loading pulley does nothing. Trying to manually move the tray by pushing it near the loading pulley / teeth I cannot move it at all.
Here is a video of turning it on:
Note the spindle remains in the same position - I think this is meant to move out of the way when the machine is turned off?

Any suggestions for what the problem might be much appreciated! Maybe I will just have to tear it down completely, I can't see anything obvious that is making the tray so it can't move.
