Okay....got a Pioneer CLD-D925 off ebay the other day and when it arrived, the seller had not really packed it well.........upon plugging it up,it would not open the tray door, came up with an error message,so I opened the sucker up and had a look at the inside to see why the tray was not opening, could not see anything out of the ordinary until I noticed a bar bent slightly at the back of the player on top....I looked at the lid and sure enough there was a bend in the metal, which I assume happened in transit, bent it back into shape and tried again......it played fine, skipped thru chapters fine, turned over to side B fine, lovely, went to take the disc out and an error message came up,tray did not open, the slider inside was the fault..E0...after nudging it a little,it finally came and opened up,now everytime I go to play a disc,I have to nudge the slider a little to get it too work....so Im assuming a little grease is needed inside......I greased it up,and now it comes up with an error message saying that the setup (rotation start) is the problem, the tray opens fine, but now will not play the disc as the error message E5 comes up.......PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME......except for send it back to the seller....they are long gone by now....moved house and closed ebay account.....Im beginning to think that the laserdisc player is on commission with me......x

If the belt is broken, smeared with grease or worn, then the rotation start will slip or not function at all. Are you sure the slider tray is getting seated properly? http://laserdisc.wikkii.com/wiki/Pionee ... rror_Codes

mercury77 wrote: Never ever grease a belt!.......is that advice fall in the same category as dont eat yellow snow..?...lol....cheers for that,I was under the impression that it might not be working if the belt was sticking...hence the grease, but sounds like the opposite,thanx......Ill try that on the weekend, there is no rush as this is my back up player, but Im thinking maybe Ill just get a more reliable back up.....do you think its saveable..? I hope you didn't got the impression from me of greasing the belt. What I meant was that it could be grease on the belt that has to be removed or replace the belt. I think it is saveable if there are mechanical parts that causing the problem. If it is electronics parts that needs adjustment, then you should sell it as parts.
