I picked up a CLD-V840. I have two remotes, the CU-CLD135 and the CU-CLD107 which work with other LD players. For this one they both work fine powering up and playing, pausing, etc but neither of them will open or close the tray. I have to use the button on the front of the player. So I’m wondering if I have a defect player or the wrong remotes

Try to press the stop button and see if anything happens.

That works. When it's not playing and I press stop, the tray ejects.
