Just won a Pioneer CLD 3070 from ebay, and it works fine mechanically, but has an issue with the jog dial and the remote signal.

With the jog dial, regardless of playing a LD or CD, the player will only respond to moving the jog dial in reverse. When I move the jog dial to the fast forward position, it doesn't respond. Furthermore, sometimes when using the jog dial to reverse, the player will continously rewind the disc, and the only way to stop it is to press the play button on the front panel.

The next issue with the player is that the player won't respond to any remote codes of any of my Pioneer LaserDisc player remotes. The only button it will respond to is the "Power button" when turning on the player. Other than that, it won't accept any other commands from any of my Pioneer LaserDisc player remotes.

What could be causing this?
