OK so I was enjoying star wars until chapter 13 and the player started skipping. Playback started jumping around and if I skipped forward a chapter it will not find it. Tried side B and same issue for 2nd half of disc. Tried some other discs and same thing. Took the disc outside to the man cave and tried it in the CLD1450. Now this was weird as everything plays fine except the last few chapters of side A that seem to read few in a few seconds followed by what looks like a test signal then player displays end and sits clicking for a few seconds before giving up.

Sounds like the disc might be bad on side A but other than that the CLD1450 reads everything fine. Its just the 2850 that has the fault and only on CAV discs. Tried a CLV disc and it reads fine.

Any thoughts?

Focus servo needs adjustment or faulty.

Adjusted it and it's fine now thanks. The disc in question is horribly warped but at least it's playing ok now.
