Post subject:  Where to get CLD-R7G repair parts?

Hey guys,
Just wondering what kinds of belts and things I should stock up on in case something goes wrong with my R7G.

I'm in Japan and don't know of any repair places here, so I'd like to keep some parts around for whatever I can do by myself.

Thanks!

I was told to stock up on lasers and spindles, but then you would still need some knowledge on how to center them once you replace.
good luck.

One nice thing with the R7G is you can pull and reuse parts from many different lower end late players - the spindle motors and pickups are all the same.

I think the loading belt is the standard SCQ4.0 type, so that won't ever be hard to replace.

Does Pioneer Japan sell parts to individuals and/or still fix players? I think N$A was able to send R7G's to Pioneer for servicing.

This player is from the same sub-generation as the R7G - it has VCD and dual-CD support but the same motherboard (but not comb filter): http://elektrotanya.com/pioneer_cld-210 ... nload.html

The belt is supposedly the SCQ4.0 but the last orders of them I received are slightly larger than the Pioneer belt. So I have started ordering the SCQ3.6 or I just order from Pioneer.

As for the spindle motor or pickup, as stated they are the same as many commercial and industrial models but I would order a new spindle from Pioneer as they will have a higher failure rate than the pickup. I would also consider the power supply since you are in Japan. Many of the US models will work but they are 120VoltAC supplies.

Seconded on the spindles, I plan to order a couple/few pretty soon from Pioneer myself.

Pickups are another story, Pioneer wants $144 for those. Has anyone ever rebuilt one with a red laser...?

Red laser operates at a different voltage and Pioneer never made a red laser that you could fit into this series, CLD-D604 and others along with the R7G

Ah well, it might've been a nifty hack!

The R7G power supply is VWR1269 (per ldservice's page on it), which was actually used in US models, specifically the 605/6 and V870/880. In Japan it was probably used in the R5 as well.

So is there any site with the part numbers needed for the R7G?

I picked up bands/sheets but want to grab a psu and spindle motor and maybe a pickup.

It looks like ldservice page is gone.

What are bands/sheets????

Since you are in Japan your best bet is to try and contact Pioneer and see what they still have.

Someone else will chime in as to what part numbers are what.

rein-o, i mean the rubber parts, the loading belt, pads, etc.

i could contact pioneer if no info comes up. last time i asked them about something they weren't much help though. and you can't order anything without the part numbers.

cheers.

Go to an Pioneer authorized repair place, assuming they still exist. I’m not sure what’s left of Pioneer at this point other than the DJ business which is now hit or miss and I think owned by another company anyway.

I believe there is a CLD-D406 repair manual in the manuals section in the website. Just lookup the laser, spindle motor, and load belt as they are the same parts used in the R7G.
