So, there's a CLD-D604 which is effectively mine. It resides at the location where the anime club I belong to has its meetings, & I'm the one who brings LDs to the meetings to play on it. Now, recently it has developed a fault. Recently means "between the August meeting & the November meeting" — there was no September meeting, & at the October one I didn't have a chance to show anything. The player was moved during this interval, & I do not know if it could have been dropped or otherwise damaged. In any case, on side A (have not yet checked side B), playback occurs with fine vertical stripes of opposing colours, like vertical blinds, one with a red shift, the next with a blue shift. This occurs on both composite & S-video input. The 1080p LCD projector doesn't show the same effect on material introduced via the RGB connector, although I may say I have not had the chance to test it with any other composite or S source, so the projector is still not completely ruled out. Does anyone recognize what is going on here? |

Rule out the projector first with another player or device with composite output. There's no source for possible interference that's new? |

I would take the player somewhere else and test it. If you can repeat this at other locations the power supply may be the first place to look. |
