Bit of a weird problem, my CLD515 plays both sides however when it plays the second side you can really hear the disc spinning. Almost like its churning away. Side 1 is always fine.

Is there anything that can be done?

Perhaps an issue with the internals after the laser system has moved to play the other side, does it play well & is the noise issue the only problem?

Anything more than internal cleaning, lubing & the like is beyond me but I am pretty sure that some of the users here will be able to offer you the advice you require.

Good luck & hope is is a simple fix.

If it is just a wind sound I would say that it is just the air circulating a little different inside the player. If it is mechanical then the spindle motor is having issues spinning the reverse direction. Nothing to lubricate here, this is plainly wind pattern inside the the player in reverse direction or the spindle motor.

It plays perfectly fine, just very loud on side 2. Problem is it's loud enough that you can hear it over the film and very distracting :(

I cracked it open last night after watching a couple of Youtube vids. Loosened then retightened some screws on the metal arm that holds the spinner in place and the noise has died right down!
