I bought this thing off ebay, the seller assured it to be 100 percent functioning. However, the movies seem to play at faster speed than they should. The speed seems to be 1.1x normal, making human voices sound nasal. Is this normal? On B side I have also ran into rewind-repeat patters, where it just rewinds and plays 5 second clip over and over again. I am completely new to LD and have never had a player before. |

Hmm after searching the interbits about the playback speed, I came into contact with a phenomenon called "PAL Speed-up". Could my issue lie with poor movie transfer method rather than the player? |

There's a mechanical problem causing side B issues (M holder maybe?) but PAL speedup is usually 3% (24->25fps) - if it was actually playing 10% faster I think the digital audio decoder would get very confused, since it works at a constant (44100hz) rate. |

Also always try more than one disc to be sure the problem is not caused by the LD itself. |
