Quite a few years ago my CLD-95 simply stopped working. I took it to a friend of mine who worked on electronic equipment, but it was beyond his ability to fix. I couldn't bear to throw it away and so I put it away not knowing what to do. Recently, I asked grasshopper what he suggested I could do to improve the picture quality with my other player and a new 4K television. His answer was, before buying a bunch of upscaling devices that may or may not work, why not send him my 95 and see if it could be brought back to life. Within a couple days of receiving my player, he knew what was wrong and how to fix it. Not only that, but he went above and beyond by cleaning and replacing a few other parts that would have caused problems down the road. The player is now like new. The picture quality is absolutely stunning! After reading various posts on this site and others, I was convinced that I would never be satisfied watching my beloved format on a 4K screen. Plugging the player directly into the television gives spectacular results. I don't think I have ever seen a laserdisc look so good! Duane went above and beyond for my player, and I can't thank him enough. My only complaint now is that I don't have enough time to go back and re-watch every disc I've played over the last 5 years. I couldn't be happier. Thank you again Duane. Ron |

what connections do you use on a 4k screen with your LD player? is it composite? maybe 4k screens don't have Y/C S-video? |

Thanks for sharing - I'm yet to own a dedicated NTSC player but have been looking at the CLD-97... This does really prove what a well setup LD player can do though |

grasshopper, it could be great if you could open like tutorial website of web page about fixing LD players ! We can find service manuals in LDDB, and I plan now to buy all requiered things to increase my player pickup focus etc. (oscilloscop, test discs, appropriate screws, etc...) I thing it could be great for the future of our loving LD players to have this sort of site, where we could fond tutorials, and share experience. |

It has a Yellow, Green, and Blue composite inputs. Just put the 95 composite into the Yellow input and I've got the best picture I've ever seen on disc! Many thanks again to Grasshopper. He did an amazing job! |
