Does anyone have a link or anything on the repair manual on this model. Just need to figure out on how to put the tray back to its original place after sliding it into the player?

With the unit powered off, gently push the tray inwards until you hear it clicks into position. It will end up in the same position as you would load a laserdisc to play. Power on the unit and the unit will complete the cycle and close the tray.
This works with the DVL-range models and should work for your model as well. :)

I did what you suggested and when the player is on the tray makes a bad noise as if its forcing it to go down. So i right away pull the power.

I used this site on just for the removal, you use the little gears to lift the tray up but the instructions on how to put it back aren't listed.

I'm afraid I cannot help you any further, it could be a different setup in this particular model based on the service manual you have provided. Was the player working in general before the tray was removed?
I hope krbahr or grasshopper can share some of their knowledge, as they have experience with the D704, D703 and it should be somewhat identically to the D701, I believe. :)

You have to get the teeth properly aligned on the gears on the bar going side to side with the notch on the tray gear tracks. The load mechanism should be OK as long as you didn't remove any timing gears, just have it fully in the tray out position. If you removed the CAM gear then that is a real pain getting the tabs in the timing notches.

Alright i'll see if that works or not.If no then i would tell in more detail what could be wrong with it.

So what you said worked and the tray now works normal. But now there is another problem, when i put a CD just to try it out and the laser didn't detect the CD even though it moved at each segment for LD and CDs. Could you know what the problem is?

You must have knocked something.
Needs alignment, good luck with that.

Check for loose cables or cables that came unplugged.

So i finally got the player to read discs but it just so a frozen error image that says chapter 0 and lot of waving lines throughout. So i don't even know what could be the problem now.
