Hello everybody

My laserdisc player CLD-2850 Pioneer has since tuesday a problem.

On saturday the player was in use without any problem (no loud or weird sounds too).

the problem is:

The payer shows no reaction. i can not start the player. no reaction, it does not matter which button i press or try. i tried any button on the player and the remove.

it's electricity on the player, the "standby" light shines. i tried other sockets, did not worked.

so - what can i do? Anybody?

I had the player since june/july last year and watched 45 laserdiscs since then - never had a prob.

thanks!

kind regards

I´m just guessing here - maybe it´s just something like a blown fuse ? Have you opened the hood to take a peek inside ? I brought two Players last week to my Pioneer Service and the guys told me (one player was dead on arrival, didn´t even show the red standby, a cld-925) that it´s sometimes better if the player won´t do anything at all than random errors. I´m not sure about the 2850, maybe the switch on the front left to power the player isn´t working fully? No contact ?Does it feel different when you push this button? Hope you can get it fixed!

Blown fuse - maybe. Could be. No, i did not opend the hood. i am a real greenhorn when it comes to things like that.

The power button feels normal. not different.

Crazy was that the player worked well today evening after i tried again. i could get startet the player, i could open it, close it, switch it off but now it's not working anymore. and i did nothing. really strange.

i have still 1.5 year guarantee, so i wrote to the seller. maybe thats the best. maybe he can check or get a new one or i can have the money back (and buy a other ld player).

wish me luck!

thanks for answering!

I think it´s nothing big, if you have a warranty, thats fine. Other wise, there´s a swiss user here, takou, he spoke in another thread of Pioneer Switzerland Service. Maybe this could be bit of help? Good luc - I know things like that are so annoying.
