Hello everyone.

Is there a non-elite Pioneer player that has parts similar to the CLD-97? Trying to decide which LD players I want to keep now, and will keep the 97 as my main player if I can get a backup for parts for it.

Of course, finding a CLD-97 without paying out the @$$ for it is next to impossible these days, so if I can find a non-elite model with similar parts that would be the best course of action.

Well my only guess would be the cld-3080 and similar players, since the CLD-95 is kind of based off the 3080 from what I understand, I know that that the 97 is redesigned from the 95, however just by looking at pictures it seems to me at least they share a similar chassis.
But as someone who has never owned or seen a 3080, 95, or 97 in person, I can't back that with much.

I would be interested in this also. Would the only other compatable player be the 95?

The only similarity between the 3080 and 97 is the laser pickup and the loading mechanism. All the other boards are different.

CLD-939 / 959 from Japan are usually pretty good deals.

Would the CLD-2080 have any similar parts to the CLD-97?

The pickup in the CLD-2080 is the same as the CLD-3080 so it should be compatible as well.

The laser pickup and loading assembly only, just like the 3080.
