Hello everyone,
I am looking for some help to repair a CLD-D780 laser disc player.
Currently it is totally dead and I suspect the power supply needs new caps.
I need to get the LD tray open to get the power supply out but for the life of me cannot find any gears to move it.
i managed to get the CD tray to open by spinning a white gear underneath but cannot find a gear that will work for the larger tray.
Can anyone help? Not many guides for these things.

Thanks

next to the gears is a tag you have to be pressing in on, unit needs to be in loaded position and then you keep pressing on the white tab and it will at one point start going in while turning the gear, then the entire tray will open. Or if the fuse is blown just cut out the arc suppressor and replace the fuse and it should work

thanks for that. i am currently at work so will check tonight. So is it the same gears that open the CD tray work with the laserdisc tray when that tag is pressed?

Thanks krbahr. That did the trick. Now to look at the power supply.
