Having given up on my PR-7820, I tried transferring a videodisc on a CLD-V2400. I transferred one side to my Mac with a USB interface; then, several minutes into side 2, the spindle suddenly stopped spinning. Subsequently, using either side of my disc or any other, after inserting the disc, the 'Disc Set' light no longer comes on, and of course the disc does not spin. There must be an internal mechanism which lifts the spindle into the hole in the disc which is laying on the insert tray, and this is apparently no longer happening. Has anyone seen this? I'm wondering if I should look for some mechanical incident within, or if it could be electronic-related such as a component failure?
