Post subject:  CLD-D604 Grinding Noise

I recently acquired a CLD-D604. The first thing I checked was the M Holder. It does not appear to be broken, and the player plays and switches sides without issue. I have noticed a bit of a grinding noise that I've captured in a video. Is this normal for this player, or is there something wrong with the M Holder that I'm not seeing?

Take your finger and push the pickup forward and back, if you see the gears between the motor worm gear and the track jump up and down then the pins holding them are broke. The entire holder does not initially break, just the gear pins.

Thanks Kurtis. It is broken. This is the first player I've had with this faulty piece. I'll disassemble it and try to think of some solutions.

A photo of the issue. I'm going to try first to glue them back.

Glue metal rods through it, those breaks will never hold with regular glue.
60min epoxy also.

I did a pretty good job of making things worse with glue. I ended up drilling a hole for the smaller gear and putting a nail through and gluing in place. The issue is still not resolved unfortunately. I'll be to a home supply store soon to get the exact widths of nails I need for both gears and make another attempt.

That's exactly what I would try first.
You may even need to file the nail down to the correct diameter.
