My entry player for the format, for which has been operating for the last 7 years, made a decision not to eject discs anymore.
I was in the middle of switching discs and when the tray was fully outside, I could hear something on the inside make a cracking sound. I quickly released something had broken off, but the tray went in without problem. Upon ejecting the tray, it would open and the tray got about 10 centimetres out and the motor was straining to get any further. The player then decided to withdraw the tray.
I removed the top cover and put the player vertically to have a better view of what's going on. The tray would go in and out as it should. I then placed the player horizontally on the table and watched the tray open, but it wouldn't go any further than the first attempt. I tried to help the tray by lifting it on the right side and then the tray got fully out. Could load a disc and play without problem.
Then all of a sudden, I noticed the little green switch on the right side at the very top corner of the circuit board. To my surpise it was broken off and the lines that were going to the switch were cut off.

Am I right that this is the cause of my problem?
I don't understand why the switch would be located at the very top corner of the circuit board without some kind of reinforcement?

If someone got the complete part and willing to strike a deal with me, let me know!
The CLD-1090 should be a good substitute and the parts should be identical!

I can see the cracked part now. Good that it was easy to spot.

You can actually fix that with a little glue (epoxy, crazy glue, etc.) and then use solder and spare wire to make jumpers for the switch circuit. Not sure what caused it to crack but it could have been a combination of age and being that this part appears to be under stress from the switch.

Probably be very difficult to get this part as a spare with so few players around these days.

As LDFan says, easy fix with some crazy glue and a soldering iron. That switch is actually the safety switch. If you manually pull down on the door to see the spinning disc (as us techies are often wont to do) the player will stop the disc. The only way I can think of to break this part is by reassembling front panel incorrectly and then forcing the door.

I have 2 1750 players for parts. Issue are the rails that crumbled into oblivion. Besides that they are mint.

As blam says crazy glue.
Crazy glue and 60 minute epoxy are our friends, if you can't find 60 then 30 will works also.
The longer time the stronger it is.

Thanks for all the advices!
I have sent a PM to Kris.
Hopefully we can make something out regarding parts supply or else I would try to do as the others here have suggested.
