TV is new (LED, with only 1 Composite/Component input); typical nowaday TV. I will try to find another TV to test.
There are 2 video outputs from this player. I used video output 1 to connect to TV. When I unplugged the video cable from output 1 and plugged it back to output 2 of the player, TV displayed "no signal". Then I plugged the video cable back to output 1, the "no signal" display disappeared on TV. So there must be some signal from player to TV so that TV would show the status of the player such as "OPEN", "CLOSE", "PLAY", "SEARCH", "CHAPTER x", etc. Just no video/audio when playing the LD disc !!
Thanks,
Ching-Ho Cheng

Did you check if your player is on “Aux” mode? That would definitely kill the sound but maybe also mute the video as well. Yes, it is a Karaoke player. "Aux" mode ? How to enable/disable it ? Thanks, Ching-Ho Cheng

Can you hear a CD when you play that? No, I only tried LD discs. I will try to play CD. Thanks, Ching-Ho Cheng

There is a button on the front panel next to the Echo control called “Aux Input”. Keep pressing it until the on screen display tells you it is on “normal” (at least I think that is what it will say).

Latest update: It turned out to be the JVC TV input. After I tried different video input in TV, I could watch the video. However, that revealed more issues about the video signal ! I enclose the link to the short video capture of the player video issues for reference. https://youtu.be/dbh8jAqhdTwI had tried a few more disks, same issues. Could it related to the laser head ? Thanks, Ching-Ho Cheng
