I have a Pioneer CLD-M401 LD player that seems to not want to play any laserdisc past the 23-26 minute mark. The player will play perfectly until around those time markers, and then will stop playing, and either revert back to a previous track, or just simply stop. I've played Rush-A Show of Hands, Sleeping Beauty, Rush-Exit Stage Left, and Rush-Grace Under Pressure on this device, and all of them exhibit the same deal. The player won't play them past this certain point. Any suggestions as to what to do, or whom could fix this. I appreciate any assistance with this issue!

Well, hold tight for a minute. I took the cover off, and found four CDs floating around inside the back. Testing again to see if that might have been the problem. Facepalm!

I guess I solved my own problem. I never heard anything rattling around inside there. Should have opened the lid first. Oh well, live and learn.

I had a player once with the same issue, can't remember if it was a DVD or CD player but opened it up and found a disc floating around.
Glad you were able to fix it easily.
Enjoy LDs

Gotta watch out for that robotic arm that picks up the CD.

They do occasionally stick and accidentally drop a CD in the wrong place. I don’t think it’s a mechanical issue with the player but could be slightly imperfect discs.

Good to know you resolved it  .

I went through 3 M90s to piece together one that actually worked. Bad laser pickup, bad robotics, bad power supplies, bad gears in the loading mechanism. Not thrilled with the M90s playback (no digital audio output), but when I realized all of the M4xx players used the same robotics and loading mechanics, I abandoned any attempts of getting a newer player.

I'll be remedying that weakness in a few months ;). Getting ready my parts to complete my S/PDIF output (optical & coaxial) and AC3-RF output mod.

It still won't be as good a player on the picture quality side compared to my fleet of other higher end players, but it will become a lot more flexible in playing back more audio codecs in addition to being a CD Changer too (e.g.: soon I'll be able to playback five DTS CDs').
