I finally received a donor M-Holder from a DVL. I installed it and things were going great until I removed the tray to start making adjustments. The unit stopped powering on. The red standby light is on, but pressing the button does nothing (same with remote). Is anyone familiar with this fault?

Make sure the connections to the front panel board are secure. Verify if you are getting the ON signal back to the power supply. I would follow that signal if it power supply does not receive it o determine why. Also when you plug in the remote control in the back it disables the front controls.

Thanks Kurtis. This was the 3rd player I saw with power issues in a span of few days so I guess I assumed the worst. When I pulled the tray out it snagged the ribbon cable running from the main front board to the one on the right and ever so slightly unseated it. Good to know about the functionality of the control ports on the back though.
