D6 can supposedly be replaced with K1V24, but I've never tried it.
Eject LD tray by applying pressure to #4 CD Plate VNL1685 (white plastic piece) while turning pulley. Thanks! Are you psychic?! Lol. I was able to remove the power board last night without opening the drawer (seems the two pcb's in this player were designed to be removed without removing drawer assembly) and I measured D6 and it does show continuity in both directions. I ordered some slow blow fuses last night. I had read that slow blow was ok if the fuse was where the raw ac entered the device due to possible voltage surge. That sound ok? Thanks a bunch for your help!!

Not sure if slow blow is ok, but the one in the CLD-D604 power supply I have lying around looks medium blow. Ahhhh. Thank u so much! I'll search for that post. I'm at work so I can do anything now but I do see K1V4....(can't see the rest) on D6. I see variations of the K1V24 replacement part. Can u tell me the exact part number of will any of them do? Any place u recommend I order from? Thanks!!!!

Unit will operate fine without it, so maybe after you ensure the rest of it works you can order it and install if you think it needs it. Thanks!!! Going to run by Home Depot later and get the fuse and clip this part to see if I can get this running tonight. The player is in clean condition and came with a short stack of movies for $50 total. Lol.

krbahr wrote: D6 is just a cheap surge suppressor design and it shorts out to blow the fuse it a power surge is detected, I was told that Pioneer said they used too small of a breakdown voltage for the part chosen, it should have been higher. The better solution is clip D6 out and buy a wall adapter or power strip with surge protection. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just clipped it and installed a new fuse. It works!! Woohoo!
