Hello,

I recently purchased an HLD-X9 and it arrived with some issues. It seems like the tray has become mis-aligned during transport and it won't open when I push the eject button. How difficult is it to open up the X9 and get the tray back on track?

-thanks

I've not been fortunate enough to have played with an X9 but if it's anything like other Pioneer players then it should be easy enough to open and take a look at least. You should be able to find a service manual online for guide pictures, though the text will most likely be in Japanese.

A PDF of the manual is available right here on LDDb -- thanks, Julien!

Just a quick suggestion also, the trays are know to brittle as like the Ld-s9 and cld-99 eith the material they used, The rear plast ears I call them might of cracked are brittle away or half way there. The seller probably didn't know either. I had two Faroudja LD1000 that did this, the one I got very lucky with Expoxy and the other I used a cld-D503 tray.

Just my pat past experience, there is usually to longer Phillips screws stick up on each end of the tray you need to remove and the a plastic tab on the right loend of the lower tray when you have it pulley all the way out you push this tab(lever to the left and gently pull the tray forward.

Hope this helps, the tray don't move at all, there are other routes so you don't tear up things.

Let us Know,

Duane \../

Duane, If I send you my X9 and you have to swap parts from a 503 or such, please don't tell me where the parts came from:)
