Hello! I just picked up a DVL-909 at a local pawn shop as a good upgrade from my older RCA player. It would spin up but not play a disc, I cleaned the lens and it started right up. I was very proud of myself.
Now, however, for the first 10 minutes or so of playing either side A or B, I'm seeing occasional rolling lines and random dropouts (white dots). After a bit, they mostly disappear and the picture is fantastic.
I took a pic of the white adjustment screw on the laser assembly and began making tiny adjustments with no perceptible change and no luck, so I returned the screw to its original position. Same with the tilt adjustment pot.
This happens on every disc, CAV or CLV, and on both sides. I'm wondering if the tilt needs adjusted? Or could it be some other issue? I apologize as I'm new to this player and am hoping a long-time owner of this model could give some insight.
