Hello all, I've been having trouble with a DVL-919E that keeps skipping. It seems to do it on Side A and B. On Side A, it'll usually be after about 3 minutes, Side B usually within a minute. If I fast forward over the area, it'll seem to play OK for a bit.

I have tried the following:
- Removed old grease and dirt from the metal poles and plastic rails
- Added small amount of silicone lubricant to the metal poles
- Swapped the M-holder for a new one (Pioneer genuine)
- Swapped the gears on the M-holder for new ones (Pioneer genuine)

Nothing seems to make a difference. The plastic rails look straight as best I can tell.

Has anyone got experience of fixing this? The closest I found was: [DVL-909] Issues with first minute of side B? - however, this refers to only Side B problems.

Since this is also on side A I'm guessing that you have checked that the gears are moving freely and no grit in the white track. I can tell you that I've have found a few motors that have weak or dead spots and I've had to replace the movement motor. Otherwise make sure the metal rail has a very thin coat of silicon grease so it can slide.

Thank you, the movement motor is something I hadn't considered. This would be my first failed one if so! I'll see how easy it is to get hold of a new motor. I did also lubricate the whole plastic rail on both sides, it seemed to make a difference but it just moved the problem around a little or after a few times of being stuck, it would sometimes get past it.

You don't want to lubricate the plastic track, it should be dry, you need to lubricate the metal guide rail.
