I have a DVL-909 that I haven't used in about a year. I fired it up to watch a disc, and found there are now moving wavy lines and grey vertical bands in the picture.

After the player has been on for 10 minutes or so, the wavy lines get much less prominent but are still there.

If you pause a CAV disc, the lines continue to wave and move around. If you pause a CLV disc, the lines are still there, but stop moving. So the lines are being introduced somewhere before the digital frame buffer, and not in the final video out stage. All discs show this problem, and it doesn't seem to matter if it's side A, side B, beginning, middle, or end.
Any tips on diagnosing and repairing the problem? Is there a known adjustment that could cause/cure this issue, and can it be adjusted without a Pioneer test disc? I looked inside for any visibly bad capacitors or other components and didn't see anything. I also checked the supply voltages. The 14 volt one was at 14.39. No idea if that is in spec or a little high. All the other voltages were spot on.
I don't know if this is related, but the front panel display is also really dim. If you get your eye right up against it you can tell it's on and displaying the right things, but at any appreciable distance, even in a dark room, it looks like it's off.
