Hello, i just bought a Pioneer DVL-919. This model have automatic voltage select. But its compleatly dead. Many people is talking about
a problem in D105, but this dont have it in the schematic. When i took it apart i found that the power button ASSY had 2 burnt solderings.
I also found a blue capacitor loose in the player that i think was attached to that one. Ive tried to put it back but still nothing.
I have pictures but i couldnt upload them for some reason, i appriciate any help i can get. Thanks

Those blue capacitors are located on the psu board if I recall correctly?
Re-solder those burnt solder joints if you are feeling comfortable using a solder iron.
Replace the fuse with the same ratings if it is broken.
If the player still refuses to power on, clip one of the leads on the D105 surge protector. If it now works, then you have found the problem. Be sure to replace this part to prevent a critical surge in the future, leaving the player toasted. This diode of some kind is a weak component construction and a common problem, as far as I have been told.

Btw, if the number D105 is non-existent in the schematics, try to determine which part could be the diode, going from the power input socket, fuse and then the diode. The diode should be very close to the fuse. Good luck!

Im looking for that diode youre talking about, But doesnt really know which one youre refering to. So iam posting some more pictures

I also found this. 2 capacitors i cant see any crack at the top but orange goo, looks like they gone bad?

I'm trying to remember but the import or non US models may not have the diode. What you removed is an AC Filter, not the problem. I'd check and see if the diode bridge is bad. You may have to just get out the door and meter and debug it.

Although I can't read the text on it from your photo, I think that blown-off component is not a capacitor, but a Metal Oxide Varistor surge-protection component. Replace it with the exact same component. Undoubtedly this unit went through a large surge.

Ok, i will try to replace them both. Ive checked the diodes all around the board and some of them seems to be faulty.
One of them is is D103. Since its automatic voltage should i test it with american voltage for less chance of surge problem?
