Hi, all. I have a Pioneer DVL-909 that has all the mods done to it, Region-free, Macrovision, DTS for DVD. So it been opened before but the problems I'm having now same to have started once the DVD lens gone bad but plays both CD & LaserDisc great. My problem is that sometimes (most of the time) My Pioneer DVL-909 won't open. I give it some time & it stop making noise & then opens fine, set a LD in and going in fine but starts making noise, does not play & then opens on its own. If I move the tray out all the way, it does not same to have any problems and plays just fine.. but once the LD stops or I power it off & have a LD in it. It does the same thing as it starts & does not play & opens. I've open it before & tired some things and it starting working fine.. i think but once I set it back up, it started doing the same thing. I'm thinking of just buying a good LaserDisc only player has all the same outputs & it just as good or better. Any ides? |

It's probably the loading belt - a cheap fix. And this happens to regular LD players too. |

So it may just be a that my loading belt is going bad or it more or less gone bad? Any ides on what size belt is needed as the lowest I see for one that 100% for this player is almost $15. (+ shipping) Can that stop it from playing an LD that is in it as it powered on, as it sometimes will open once it tired playing it as it powered on. If helpful or needed, I be more then happy to try & make a video showing the problems I having on it. P.S. skipping/repeating problem... on side b only. Most likely lubrication of the guide rail has aged a lot. Sounds like a easy fix. |
