I need the help of you experts here. I have the "famous" B Side skipping and/or looping issue on three European DVL-909 players. I have tried to adjust it as described here: DVL-909 issues with first minute of side B? Unfortunately it could not be adjusted, I have tried for hours (really!). I then researched this forum for a long time and found information that it could be a problem with the motor holder. I took the motor holder out and it looked fine. The pins that hold the gears are there and there are no cracks or signs of wear. It is the black one (VNL1779). I then looked at the gears and cleaned them with alcohol and then used a small screwdriver to clean the gaps between the teeth. This seemed to have helped a bit, skipping is not as bad as before. If you put in a LD and immediately change to side B there is no skipping/looping at all. If you play it from the beginning of side A there is skipping around 1:20 min of the B Side which almost always occurs. I also checked the white guide and it also looks fine. It is firmly in its place. How can this problem be solved? Should I get new gears (VNL1639 & VNL1782 ) or could there still be an isue with the motor holder? Or might it even be the laser unit? Could it be wear on the white guide (VNL1722)? Thanks and greetings from Spain! |
