My DVL 90 needs the part VNL1726, its the white plastic piece that holds the side b rail, I tried to order one but pioneer has discontinued it. If anyone knows of where I could find this part, would be greatly appreciated! |

I believe the DVL-90 is just the elite version of the DVL-700, I have a non-functioning DVL-700 I can sell you for parts. |

If you install a resistor in one of the jumpers, dvl909 becomes dvl-90. They are the same thing internally. |

I am not trying to turn a 909 into a 90, or 700 into a 90. I already have a DVL-90 that I want to repair so I can play side B. I don't have a DVL 909 or 700. |

We are saying it will be easier to source a dvl 909 or 700 for parts than the part you are looking for alone. I understand the part your are looking for is probably a few bucks but parts are no longer available for most LD players. I am sorry its an expensive hobby but LD was never a cheap thing even in its day. |

I understand your point, I actually did make a deal with Elahrairrah to buy his DVL-700, it turned out he didn't have the player anymore so it didn't work out. while yes I would prefer to get the specific part(less $ and avoids adding to my current stack of dead players) I have certainly realized the notion that I may end up buying another machine for this repair. And yes I agree that Laserdisc is an expensive hobby, I learn that more every day... |

Sorry if i sounded mean. It wasn't my intention. Look at it this way, that dvl in its day would have cost you at least $1200(being an elite model). I think at the very end, they cleared those at a blow out price of $600? I am sure you paid less than that. So here you have saved some money already. Spending a little more, you are still way under the guy who originally bought that unit for full price in 90s. Another option is to sell yours as for parts and try to locate a functional player. Keep an eye out on craiglist. There is always decent stuff in new york area. |

The DVL-700/90 are the same unit, Pioneer completely updated the electronics going to the DVL-909/919/91. The mechanical assembly is close but not 100% the same. I believe I have a 700 part unit. I would have to check for the VNL1726 |

I would have to check for the VNL1726 Thank you for checking, I was told it is easier to remove the entire good B side assembly plate as one unit, that way the entire plate can be swapped out. If this is the case I suppose I'm better of with the whole plate, if that seems sensible.. Quote: Sorry if i sounded mean. It wasn't my intention. No offense taken, I completely agree with you, I would have never dreamed to buy this stuff when it came out, in the (late) 90s I was a kid watching James Bond vhs tapes on maybe a 15" RCA crt from the 80s The DVL-90 I picked up on a whim, I didn't really need it but I thought it would be cool (my first elite player with fancy wood sides) it was a returned to seller after it was damaged in shipping. I picked it up at his thrift shop and got a few LDs thrown in for free. I paid a lot less then $600, let alone what it went for new, I think actually around $1800 |
