Hi,

I just fixed a Pioneer DVL-V888 Karaoke/LD/DVD Player. It's the US Model as it has the US power supply (which was broken) and there is the regional code 1 Sticker on the back. BUT someone modified this player, it now only plays DVDs with regional code 2. I have tried Google if the region code can be changed with the remote but found nothing. Can someone help?

Another question, was there ever a European version of the V888 which can play PAL LDs?

There is a way to change the region code using the remote but I'm not home and cannot see if I still have the directions. I found them on the internet years ago.

Press these remote buttons:
Menu
Enter
Display
Condition
Region number now appears
Press the desired region number...
Press menu

I don't think there's a PAL version of anything but the basic DVL core (no pre-919 NR boards, no Karaoke...)
