It's a solder job on the main dvd board. Think I have one around coming from a dvl-909...
nothing spectacular to do but I can't remember what should be done where for now...

I'm struggling with a Japanese DVL-9 player. I have some questions: 1. Is there any way to change the menu language to English (or German or Spanish)? 2. Is there any way to change DVD Region code? 3. It detects DVDs (region code 2) but when you press play it says "Cannot be played". Are Japanese region 2 discs any different from European region 2? |

If the DVDs are PAL, they won't play in an NTSC only DVD player which the DVL-9 most likely is (since it was one of the first DVD players ever made) regardless of region. |

O.k., I guess I will have to find a NTSC DVD with region code 2 or find out how to change region code settings.... Any idea how to change the region code on the DVL-9? |

If it is hacked: Push Menu Enter Display Condition ( region number should appear ) Press the desired region button ex. 2 or 3 Push menu again Only works if it has been modded for multiregion! Dvd playback is mediocre by today's standard. Even the cheap dvd players around today outperforms it.. but it is a cool feature |
