Pioneer DVL 909-European Model. When I power it up the disc tray closes and the servo mechanism rises and remains in that position. The display shows CLOSE. When I press the LD button to open the tray the loading motor activates, but only in the counter clockwise direction. The display shows OPEN. The fact that the loading motor is only turning in a counter clockwise direction is confirmed by removing the disc tray altogether, activating the mechanism, cam gear and cam plate manually,at which point the loading motor powers on counter clockwise. I did have a problem removing the disc tray, last time, and wondered whether having to use some force to remove it has put the mechanism out of sync. This was all caused by the power board ceasing to function,a problem that has since been rectified. My problem, here in New Zealand's that I do not know who I can contact for help. Laser disc players have always been few and far between here and many I have spoken to would not have a clue as to what a laser disc player was. |

I do wish I knew more to help you out. It does sound like you may have misaligned the tray when putting it back but I really don't know. Hope someone else can chime in and help you out. Or if possible post a video, sometimes others can see and give advice from that. |
