So, I recently got my very first player, along with a ton of discs, but out of the 5 I've tried so far, none have read (most cause the player to spin down, one caused it to eject the disc), except for one, which has lots of multicolored speckling in the picture. Are all of my discs rotting, or is my player (A Sony LDP-1450) just dying? Thanks for any help!!!

Someone brought me two LDP-1450s not too long ago that wouldn't read discs at all. Sony... didn't do a good job at all with their LD players or discs.

Very small chance it isn't your player. Unplug it, open it up and make sure the lens is clean.
