I wonder if I have the crosstalk problem on my Sony MDP-850D?
I am attaching some close-up photos in link. Compared to any Pioneer in my collection does the 850D have the worst picture? Is there anything I can do to make things better?

It’s hard to tell much from those pictures but in general, yeah, Sony players have blurry/bad video. They’re also famous for breaking easily too so I’d be happy mine was working at all if I were you.

Where are the settings that I turn with a screwdriver to try to improve the picture?

Hahahaha! Don’t. Don’t change anything. If you have to ask that question you’ll never pull it off and will almost certainly make it worse. Also you can’t fix design issues with adjustments, and Sony players certainly had design issues.

Last sony player was made in the early to mid 1990s, your player is probably from around 1991ish.
Dont touch it, from those pictures I don't see any crosstalk, but then again its hard to see a moving image flaw from a still picture.

Not sure what I'm supposed to see as crosstalk in the provided images. I think they look fine but maybe I need a comparison w/ an image from a Pioneer player showing how much better it's supposed to look.

From the pictures alone, I would noticed maybe some de-interlacing or DNR issues?

Have you tried to tinkering the player's settings?

All external nothing internal, no trim pots just on board menu if there is one or even TV menu setting to change.

I have two of these back at home. As others already stated, it's hard to tell from these photos, but probably what you got is normal.
I don't see any crosstalk either.

I remember experimenting by turning some pots on the main PCB, didn't really help with anything.
If you want to see how crosstalk looks like, slightly adjust the TILT trims, but then don't forget to turn them back. (Not recommended if you're not sure what you're doing)

Actually, this is my first player, watched hundreds of discs, still perfectly working.
Well it's not a high-end player, certainly not the best picture, but i like it.

I have a huge request, can you one day when you have time upload a picture or a short video of the things rotating with a screwdriver?
