Have been going in circles for the past few weeks trying to sort out my Sony MDP 999 laserdisc player.

Replaced the laser pickup, fixed the front panel PCB board cracked during the transit.
The player works but with issues.

When playing laserdiscs, I have intermittent video distortion. Pretty much random. Sometimes horizontal lines, sometimes section of the screen is distorted, strongly pointing to a horizontal sync or another issue. The sound, however, is playing without any issues.
CD playback is also excellent. So, the pickup does not seem to be the issue (pulled out from a fully working donor unit).

The obvious, plugs, freezing/heating, knocking does not seem to make any difference to the image issues.

Any ideas where I can look?
