Hello people  !

I'm new to LaserDisc, but it's a format I've always loved. I decided to start my collection so I bought a Sony MDP-850D; I've choose that because 1) Found it cheap and 2) It's a PAL/NTSC player (since most of the movies I like are only released on the US, I needed a player to play NTSC).

Ok, the case is the player works perfectly fine except the right channel sound doesn't work IF I use the EURO-AV connection (any of both). If I use RCA both sound channels sound amazing, even more if I use the optical. The seller swears everything was OK when he sent it, and I tend to believe him. So maybe something happened during shipment.

If I use any EURO-AV out the right channel only makes a loud noise (FFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!), picture is perfect, left channel too... the only problem it's the right channel. I don't know what it is; since I didn't open 'cause I'm scared I'm gonna ruin everything. Do you think it may have an easy solution? Or should I let it be and use the other sound options?

Help :(

P.D.: Sorry for my english, it's not my mother language and I know I sound weird.

Just something to add. Laserdiscs that have Dolby Digital (AC-3) that sound is put just on the right analog channel, which will sound like static. (when not decoded)

Yes, he did test it and everything worked fine.

It's not a Dolby Digital problem. I've tried Laserdisc PAL & NTSC and even Audio CD. It all sounds with same: only noise in the right channel.

It's weird right? You think both euroAV could be broken during shipping?

Could it be your scart cable? - I assume that's the euroAV cable you are talking about.
First, check if the cable is properly connected to the player, then check the input connection on your tv-screen.
Change the cable with an another one to see if that solves the problem.

If it doesn't, something is wrong with the connection.
Use composite cables instead! :)
