Some weeks ago, I played an LD on my Sony MDP-600 player and all went well until I shut the player down. I pressed the power button to shutdown. The player made its normal shutdown sounds and the front fluorescent display went dark.. The problem is that the green power LED did not turn red. It stayed its power on green color. As a test, I played my copy of Star Wars episode 4 today and it played flawlessly.

Is this player heading towards failure? I am concerned that this power LED problem may be the precursor to future problems. Maybe, someone is familiar with Sony LD players and could give me some guidance?

I have no idea really, but the red LED could possibly be dead. And that will most likely not affect the player.
