Hey hope all is well. I’m disheartened because in my quest to own a functional auto flipper, I acquired a Panasonic LX900U from a flea market and the mechanism won’t follow the track and play side B. No loud noises it just gets stuck and nothing happens while the disc spins along. Thanks for any input I’d really appreciate it in hopes to get this player working! Thanks!

I'd look for broken pieces of plastic parts inside the player.

It looks like the mechanism used to move the optical block around and above the disc to play Side B is not engaging.

Is it the same if you put the disc, close the tray and push "Play B" directly?

Julien

Good luck, there aren't many who know how to fix these.
That's why I sold it off when I had one almost 10 years ago.

If it were a pioneer I would say the disc may be slipping or something with flipper as Julien said.

You're just going to have to look and find out what doesn't look right.
Maybe even give it a nudge? but not too hard you will break it worse.

Thanks for the response guys! Unfortunately the same happens when I press side B to start. I did attempt to nudge the block and it doesn’t seem to move at all. No loose broken plastic parts inside that I can find. My only guess is if this small “gear” may be broken but I’m not sure. Thanks!

The gear looks OK from the video but you may see a small hairline crack on it, I would spin by hand to see
if there is a hairline, also it may be frozen? and needs to get loose, but that track goes back and forth not flip, its later for the flip isn't it?

Anyway do any repairs at your own risk there are a few here who have fixed but I'm not one of them.

You need to look at the mechanical position when it hits the back. The two wheels on the sides that turn have an arm on one side and a slot in the wheel on the other that need to engage with the correct points on the laser to push it around the U turn. This is a mechanical alignment and requires correct alignment to operate. If this is off you have to get the manual to see how the laser position on the belt is adjusted.
