I'm planning on modifying my LX-900U to add AC-3 output, after I put a new belt in my Sony MDP-V9K, and probably after I build an adjustment jig for my Sony HIL-C2EX, but before I try to fabricate a new upper clamp assembly for my Panasonic LX-HD20 (long story). It's funny, in the course of a year I've gone from "all Pioneer" to a stable of various types.
Anyway, I'm just wondering if anybody has done this particular mod before, & has any tips. Presumably I could work it out from first principles using the schematics (available here on LDDb), but I always like to hear from someone with experience. Likewise, as I believe one of the clones of this model (Runco? MSB?) had AC-3 as sold, photos of the relevant circuitry could be most useful.
