Hey all. Was hoping you could help me with this.

I haven't used it in a few months and when I powered it on last night, it sounds like something's trying to move inside, but nothing's happening. Pushed the tray open button, but same sound.

Here's a short video with the bonnet off. First I'm just cycling the power button. Then after the transition I'm pushing the tray open button a few times.

Any idea as to what's wrong? Is it just the tray trying to lift, but can't?

Sounds like a loading belt issue since the sound reminds me of slippage.

I have no experience with Panasonic units so not sure where the belt is located but I assume it’s under the tray.

See that gear at the still picture to the right of the YouTube logo? Turn that with your hand and the tray will pop out then clean or replace the loading belt.

Thank you! Should I do that with power on or off?

From the video it is trying to open the tray with the laser is various positions. You have problems as the laser should always go to a rest position and then start the tray eject process. Doing what pbiancardi suggest will manually force the tray open but you need to find out what is causing the erratic laser positioning.
