I picked up a "broken" Runco LJR II with symptoms indicating it needed a new belt which turned out to be correct, I cleaned it up and everything is working except side flipping.
When it goes to flip the little scooper that grabs the mech on one side does not line up properly so it gets stuck. I know what to do (have to relocate the laser clamp on the sliding belt to the correct position) but not exactly sure how to do it? How do I figure out the correct spot to attach the laser mech to the belt (other than trial and error)?
I figure I can pop open my LX-600 and try and match that but I am thinking there is a more scientific way of doing it?
Also does anyone know the procedure for setting the focus and tracking gain on the Panasonics, gumbyandpals was very helpful with advice on my 600 and he told me there was an automatic way of doing this? I asked this all to him via PM but posting also in case he doesn't log in soon.
Also any idea why this would be off? I am guessing the laser was replaced at some point and maybe previous owner only used as CD transport so wasn't worried about side flip??
Other than not flipping sides it works perfectly and I am incredibly happy to have it.

I think I found my answer in an LX-200 service manual, I know that belt clamper is the key, this shows how to setup (I assume its same on Runco / 900)?
