Just a quick question here, hope someone knows the answer. I've got a Philips CDV-400 that has both S-Video and Composite video output. Does anyone know if the composite is a clean feed from the disc, or is it recombined after it goes through the comb filter?

I know the CDV-488 composite has the option for a pure analog signal, pretty sure the 400 does not.

No modern player has a totally clean feed. The CDV-488 in analog mode does by-pass the digitizing circuitry but the people that modify players for pure analog that passes the TBC along with all processing. The CDV-488 still does analog TBC correction.
