Is Onkyo mainly using the Pioneer brand for its Car Audio and DJ series? I'm sad that I missed out on the speakers though it looks like Amazon has some speakers left.

But it is becoming more of a shadow of its former glorious self.

I really miss my sets of floor standing speakers but was unable [it would have been better if I had a working brain at the time when I suddenly had to put things in storage] and donated them but have my small set. but looking off and on for other speakers for the main HT rather than my listening setup.

Yes, all inquiries for recent gears go to Pioneer but everything "vintage" (as in 10+ years) goes to Onkyo with very limited support.

Seems like they bought the brand more than the business (the LD trademark logo expired and was never re-registered!).

Pioneer DJ is the only thing left that carries any respect for the name. In fact their DJ stuff is still pretty good, particularly the large flagship controllers…particularly in gold. I think Pioneer DJ is another company in some way.

the proud statement products of an all-but-long-gone company,
just a small part of a once-vast CE industry that is now equally all-but-lost to the sands of time;

I still need to get a Elite BDP sometime. Also should have kept my DVD with rosewood side panels but at the time I was hardly using it.

even though its not in HT at the moment my RA-J7001T is one of my favorites stands ever more than the Sony one I had long ago. it survived storage and the move but the little one I just couldn't take with me. i forgot what model that was.

Pioneer will always be a classic in many ways and now more so if it turns into something like RCA nothing more than a footnote in the modern world.

Oh well... even 10+ years Onkyo/Integra goes to ... we don't support that type of hardware anymore.

Home Theater is kind of dead now.
People go mostly streaming + sound bar.

This is the MP3 age of video.
