Hello!

I have seen this logo a few times when digging for obscure hardware and, for the first time in a LONG time, Google (including Images) was unable to find a single relevant hit!

Something Russian or German?

Adding Germany to the search definitely helped.

I'd put my money on Bundesamt für Zulassungen in der Telekommunikation.

Yes that's it, and I think it is not used anymore since quite a while.
At least it has been a long time since I saw that sticker anywhere.
Now the CE sticker should be the only relevant thing left.
But regulations are so complicated, you just never know...

Federal Office for Approvals in Telecommunications aka Bundesamt für Zulassungen in der Telekommunikation aka BZT

Founded in 1982.

I'm guessing the BZT was the equivalent of the FCC in the USA and BABT in the UK?

One other thing on my mind is if the BZT were doing approvals in West (and East?) Germany from 1982 onwards, then who approved the TED videodisc players in Germany in 1977?

Yes that should be the case except of course if we are talking about the UK, where since this Brexit nonsense kicked in (thanks to our inward thinking government) we are now seeing CE/UK|CA appearing on all new stuff sadly.
