Post subject:  Native AC3RF out vs AC3RF out Mod

Hello!

I added a specific page for all LD Players that came (officially) installed with the AC3RF output here:

=> https://www.lddb.com/hardware/part/ac3rf-out/

Now, maybe it could be interesting to add a second list of players that have been successfully modded for AC3RF.
I could add a "Player can be modded for AC3RF" check box based on your feedbacks.

Could you post your AC3RF mod history of successes/failures?

As I understand it, MOST players can be AC3 modded. Maybe I'm wrong on that.

I think the useful metric would be players that CAN NOT be AC3 modded for whatever reason.

I have to agree with Kevin that pretty much any player can be modded even going back to the top loader analog audio models.

The only minor compatibility issues is what I have mentioned in the past for at least one Sony model (MDP-455 and similar chassis) that appear to have a circuit design that can't accommodate a good "mute" point for the AC3 circuit.

Regardless, it would be nice to still create the second list and have the option to note where the AC3 points are in the player.

Yes, since AC-3 is encoded in the analog channel all LD players can be modified.

All right, that was a bad idea from the start :-)

Project cancelled!
