OK... PSLD45. This machine is based on the Pioneer, CLD-D503 judging by images I have seen for this unit.

The remote could be tricky to find since I know my PSLD43 uses the same remote design as Pioneer, CLD-2090 but the 2090's remote would not work on it since RCA (same as ProScan) made changes to the IR code. Thus, you could get a 503 remote but I have a feeling it would not work.

Just have to keep an ongoing search on eBay @ this point and hope it comes up someday. I know they are hard to come by since ProScan didn't have a lot players out there compared to Pioneer.

Thank you so much for the info. LDFAN! Would the proscan remote with shuttle knob describe the remote you are recommending? One JUST sold on Ebay for $12. I will keep an eye out for another. Also, i have this remote from the early 2000's. I've read online this may control the proscan. I've not checked the book of codes yet, but I will this evening. I will list the other 5 units I own REIN-O. So far, this ProScan is the ONLY one with S-VHS out! One of my Pioneers has optical out as does the Proscan. Rest are Red, Yellow, white. :problem: Just picked up the RObocop Criterion for $10 from a stereo shop near my home. Wow! I was not aware, but this version has HUNDREDS of stills! I'm shocked. Never owned a disc with soooo many images.

I'm not really recommending any remote except to get the one that was really designed for the player. As it turns out, the PSLD45 remote utilizes the same button layout for the Pioneer, CLD-D504 remote but like I said previously it still may not work due to different IR codes that RCA has been known to do.

Here is the link for a PSLD45 that was sold @ auction awhile back that has the pic of the remote...

Yup... that's all you can do. Just be patient since it may be awhile before one comes available but they will pop up every so often.

Most universal remotes made the same time that LD players were around should have most or all of the existing codes from that time period (especially if the universal unit is made by RCA, they should have the code you want for a ProScan). It may not control all the functions but at least it should have the basic transport codes. Also, many of today's high end universal remotes (e.g.: Logitec) have extensive databases of IR codes that should have the ProScan LD on file.

Ya know, I DID see that Estate Auction listing for the player when I googled 2 days ago, but DIDN'T notice the photo of remote! That is NOT the remote I missed out on on Ebay, but it does bring me to just one more question (kind of like Columbo): Would a similar looking PScan LD remote work for my unit??? Could the one on Ebay have worked for my unit? (link to auction below) I suggest this as I have ONE Pioneer remote and it controls ALL 5 Pioneer players I own, to some degree. I WILL keep an eye on the 'Bay for one. Turns out the RCA universal I posted DOES control some functions of my player! :) I entered a code that was for a PScan DVD player!! wow! Very cool! If you should happen to see a PScan LD remote available online, feel free to give me a poke! Thank you! :) Let me know the good word!

I'm assuming that you already tried to use the Pioneer remote on the PSLD45 and it did not work. Does that sound right? If so, I'm quite sure that the ProScan remote you found on ebay would have worked (but maybe not all the buttons because of feature differences of the players).

Sure... I can keep and ongoing search on my eBay app and let you know if something comes up via PM.

CU-CLD007 and CU-CLD008 are basically the same remote, just in different languages right?

This remote controls ALL features on my PSLD45 player though it was originally designed to control a different PS model. $10 on Ebay! SCORE!

I believe the only player remote that I know of that doesn't work is the Panasonic and another model?? Denon??
Can't remember right now.

They are the same player but for some reason they changed the remote codes and they are not compatible.
Glad it worked out for you.

Maybe you are referring to the Denon, LA-3500? This player was the last made by Denon and Panasonic did produce it for them (all previous models were Pioneer chassis').

I would have assumed that Denon would just use the same Panasonic IR code since it would make no sense (in my opinion) for them to adopt Pioneer coding into a Panasonic remote just to keep consistent w/ their use of Pioneer codes in their past players.

Browsing the YAJ remote controls, I added:

  • LD-8200D / CU-LD004
  • LD-9200D / CU-LD001

Julien,
I don't know if you know this site, and if you are able to read it's content, but it a very good site about official remote control and their players :

I have a CU-CLD039

Quick search & I found this:
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ ... r-24908083
...which states:

Originally Came With:
CLD2090 CLD2090-3
Can Be Used With:

VXX1536 REMOTE CONTROL CLD2090
VNK1806 BATTERY COVER

The Pioneer CU-CLD039 replacement or backup remote control allows easy operation of your compatible Pioneer LaserDisc Player. The CU-CLD039 remote is perfect if you lose the remote that was included with your original LaserDisc Player or if you need a spare remote. The Pioneer CU-CLD039 controls all basic functions of the LaserDisc Player.
