Due to a recent lot I've picked up, I now have five players, and no clue which one is my best option for everyday use.

My options are

CLD-1090
CLD-701
CLD-702
CLD-704
Denon LA-2100

I know the 1090 is likely not my best option, being a single-sided unit, but I'm not sure which of the others is my best option.

Advice very much appreciated.

Is that from the lot where I'm not at all jealous you got that Alien 70mm disc?

I know nothing. I just came here to express my jealousy.

Sensible side note: I think the CLD-704 is supposed to be good? I may have that mistaken with another player though.

Yeah they're from the lot. I'm leaning towards the 704, but I am having issues finding how it stacks with the others. AC-3 is a big plus though.

Just went through all of those on LDA and the 704, imho, sounds like the pick of the bunch. Though everything you have there looks great. Maybe best to hook them all up with a known, well mastered disc. Try them each on your rig and see which comes up best?

That's actually a solid idea. I'll have to do that once we get into this new house next month. I'd prefer to test with the full surround sound over just the soundbar I currently have hooked up.

704 is probably the best of the units but its also going to die fastest as spindles on those do go.

Lucky you do have 2 other 70X players and can use for parts.

I would just run 1 that you are happiest with and then save the others, rotate as much as possible without going crazy
and enjoy.

You got a good lot from that haul.
