Yesterday I was interested in looking up a certain LD player. I knew what year it was released and it's region but just needed a reminder of it's model number. Anyway I see that it no longer exists. And this hasn't been mentioned in any of the site upgrade notes.

So I went into the wayback machine and this search was still there back in march of this year. So why was this removed? Was it a failed experiment? Is it going through a major revamp? Or is it something else?

Probably something that Julien just can't quite implement so he removed it or it's having issues and he disabled it until he can fix it.

In the meantime, I would suggest trying http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk to see if the player you're looking for is on there.

Correct, I disabled it for now because it was confusing a lot of people making a LD search in the HW search and finding nothing at all... and then submitting a new title that already existed.

Until the rest of the HW section is completed, I will keep it disabled.

The global brand/device matrix should also make things easier:

https://www.lddb.com/hardware/
