They are hard to find so get it quick.

Also, universal remotes are never the best option since they can never have the exact buttons to match specific functions. Not to mention, there are really no cheap universals that will do Pioneer LD IR codes anymore.

Both models used the same remote. They are both essentially the same machine w/ the only difference is that the 870 has the AC3-RF output for Dolby Digital 5.1 audio.

Maybe ask them if they will make an exception for the shipping. It might be because they offer free shipping so maybe you can offer to pay for part of the shipping.

Thanks for the info regarding the model number, I am green as the grass on this stuff - although I have had several players over the years.

All functions work from the remote. So happy.
